To Our Patients,

We understand and deeply respect that you may be concerned about Coronavirus in public places… even at our state-of-the-art sterilized office.

At Carolina Bright Smiles, I want to assure you that our office has even further heightened our already rigid sterilization safeguards and office cleaning standards to minimize the possibility of transmission to our outstanding team…or to you, our valued patient. We have always far exceeded all standards for sterilization and patient care.

Our first priority is always the health and well-being of our patients. And that is a priority we take extremely seriously, even with the current disruptions we’re all experiencing.

Your dental health remains important to us as it plays such an important role in your overall health.

When you visit our office, you’ll see we’ve taken all the necessary steps to ensure you have the best patient experience possible. If you are experiencing any symptoms, please do not come to our office and call us to reschedule your appointment. We care for you and all our patients. If we see any symptoms in our patients or our team, we will reschedule the appointment on the spot and send that individual home.

It is just one more way that we can show our high level of care for you…and for everyone in our community. We very much look forward to seeing you, your family, and your friends very soon.

Sincerely,
Dr. Steve Garrett

2 Ways Cosmetic Dentistry Makes You Healthier [BLOG]

January 16, 2018

Have you noticed the local gym is more crowded this time of year? Or that it’s a little tougher to schedule an appointment with your hair stylist?

That’s because January is the time when people starting thinking about ways to improve their appearance.

This is great, but our team at Carolina Bright Smiles has even better news for you!

With cosmetic dentistry, you can actually look great and enjoy other surprising benefits to correcting your smile flaws.

Today, we’re talking about those benefits and how our team in Hillsborough, NC can help you take advantage of them!

Cosmetic Dentistry Makes You Beautiful

When you think of any form of cosmetic treatment, you probably think about appearance first. This is quite obvious, right?

Not only is a bright, flawless smile an immediate benefit you will notice after cosmetic dental treatment, but it’s the first thing everyone will notice when they next see you.

And there’s nothing wrong with that, is there?

But what if we told you that cosmetic dentistry can do so much more than just improve the appearance of your smile?

You might not believe it. Actually, you might think it sounds too good to be true.

But the fact is, there are reasons to beautify your smile with cosmetic dentistry that go deeper than what you notice on the surface.

*You can move ahead at work when you feel more confident.

*You can have the courage to pursue a new, romantic relationship.

*You can build a larger network of personal and professional contacts.

*You can send a message that you’re someone who takes pride in their health and appearance.

Certainly, these reasons are enough to explore cosmetic dentistry. But there are actually more advantages that await you!

2 Ways Cosmetic Dentistry Makes You Healthier

As if looking amazing thanks to a more beautiful smile, cosmetic dentistry comes with other benefits, too!

Here are two ways cosmetic dentistry can make you healthier:

#1: It Will Be Easier To Achieve Better Physical Health

Even if you have otherwise strong, healthy teeth, that doesn’t mean you’re not at risk for the health problems that are related to what’s going on inside your mouth.

What we mean is, surface damage to your tooth enamel like chips or cracks make start out as a cosmetic problem. But over time, chips and cracks can get bigger and make your teeth weaker and more susceptible to oral health problems.

You’re also at risk for tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease if your teeth are awkwardly positioned or shaped. That’s because brushing and flossing is more challenging if you have overlapping, crowded teeth, for example.

The reason this is a big deal is because poor oral health is shown to affect your overall health, leading to issues like:

-Increased risk for stroke

-Type II diabetes

-Chronic depression

-Heart disease

The list is too long for this blog, but you get the idea. Your teeth are easier to keep clean when they are free of surface damage and are aligned properly. In this way, cosmetic dentistry can give you a smile that’s easier to maintain and keep clean for a healthier you overall!

#2: You’ll Feel Better About Yourself

Studies have shown time and again that chronic depression is related to all kinds of systemic health problems. It’s one of the reasons why it’s so important to learn healthy ways of managing your stress and achieving a healthy balance in your life of work and play.

So when you think about the cosmetic flaws in your smile, ask yourself what that’s done to your emotional well-being over time.

If you’re pretty familiar with feeling anxious and insecure when you’re around other people, meeting new acquaintances, or smiling for pictures, chances are that emotional burden could eventually have a negative impact on your physical health as well.

By having cosmetic dentistry to correct embarrassing flaws in your smile, you’re doing something that can make you feel better about yourself, and consequently, help to improve your physical health, too!

Cosmetic dentistry isn’t just about looking great. It’s about feeling great!
