We do have a lot of technology here and it really helps us with our patient care, in a lot of ways. One of the main things that people like is our ability to do crowns, in single visit. It's a technology called CEREC, it's a business that's been around for 30 years. But it's absolutely fantastic.
Because, we can take a person that needs a crown and we can scan it, with a little camera in their mouth and literally, in half an hour, we've got a crown that is super-precisely milled and it's ready to go. We can cement and in the span of a short period of time, they can leave, having that crown the same day.
Now, they love it, because many of them have had crowns the traditional way, which involves at least two appointments. Having to wear a temporary crown that maybe doesn't always fit so well. Sometimes it falls off and they come back two weeks later and hope that the crown fits.
But, with modern dentistry, with the digital technology that we have today, the crowns that we make, they just fit, almost flawlessly, every single time. They're just wonderful. So, patients like that, they appreciate it. That it's accurate and it saves them a lot of time, because they don't have to come back for delivery of the crown.
So, sometimes people are really blown away because they had an accident or something. Maybe broke a tooth at breakfast and they call us up and they're out of here before lunch and they've got a brand-new crown. They're good to go.
One of the other things that we have is a 3D cone beam machine. Which is unparalleled in it's diagnosed ability, to help diagnose a variety of issues. That you just really couldn't see without the use of the 3D technology there.
The other thing it allows us to do, is to very precisely and accurately plan for the placement of dental implants. So, dental implants are extremely popular treatment modality for people to replace missing teeth and/or to stabilize dentures.
Now, we have the ability, with the three-dimensional screening of the patient's jaw, to be able to very precisely place the implant in the software and then have a custom implant guide, that's actually milled and fabricated. Then, we take that to the mouth and we know it's super-accurate, because it was designed in 3D, in the software.
That's just another example of some of the technology that we use, which makes the dentistry more predictable, more reliable. Really better and faster, the day that we place the implant for the patients, since we use the guided surgery, it goes really quickly for them.
