Dr. Hampton is skilled in all aspects of general dentistry, including crowns and bridges, dentures, wisdom tooth extractions, root canals, implants, bone grafting, and much more.
The son of Drs. Weldon and Cindy Hampton, Dr. Hampton grew up in Oxford, NC and graduated from JF Webb High School in 2003. He attended North Carolina State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2007. Dr. Hampton then decided to pursue a career in dentistry by attending New York University College of Dentistry in New York, NY. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2011 and furthered his education by completing two years of postdoctoral study in a hospital general practice residency. He spent his first year of his general practice residency at Vidant Health in Greenville and then moved to Charlotte and practiced as Chief Resident at Carolina’s Medical Center for another year.
Dr. Hampton also completed a six-month internship on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He has also trained in dental treatment for medically complex patients, special needs patients, and hospital patients, as well as in anesthesiology, ear/nose/throat, internal medicine, emergency services, and the dental specialties of periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
Dr. Hampton has also completed continuing education in sedation dentistry. He is licensed to provide IV sedation for patients who may have dental anxiety for wisdom tooth extractions, or for any other dental needs.
Dr. Hampton has earned a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and will accept this award in 2018 in New Orleans. He also holds a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and he looks forward to improving his patients’ smiles with dental implants.
In his spare time, Dr. Hampton is an avid guitar and piano player, performing in occasional weddings and parties. He also loves anything to do with athletics (Go Pack! Go Panthers! Go Braves!) and participates in soccer, baseball, softball, rock climbing, running, and weightlifting. Dr. Hampton has been working toward getting his private pilot license, which he hopes to obtain in the near future.
